Ohkay here we go. First of all I'd like to mention I am a fan of just about any skilled in field wildlife sketch artist. But I think my most favorite artists outside dA are John Howe, because he is everything I imagine an artist should be, like some mythical creature but hes real. XD Second is Lee Hammond, just because I learned so much from her books... I am forever grateful and look up to her.
And here is a large compilation of my favorite artists nicely gathered together in two art feature journals. fav.me/d5fuvpj
Well, I have a People-I-Watch Journal, here: phi8.deviantart.com/journal/Th… ,I think you might be especially interested in the first category, but the others are certainly good too!
As for people that aren't (as far as I know) on dA: José-Luis Munuera, Enrico Marini, André Franquin, Steven Dupré, Regis Loisel, Juanjo Guarnido. They're all European comicdrawers and they're my big examples since I want to become one myself. And then also Ken Sugimori, but that's more a fan thingy.
