Thanks! That milky way was one of my favorite parts, though you are the first to mention it. XD I was lucky enough to visit Lake Powell, UT and got some great photos for reference.

Nope, just a hard round or soft round set on scatter and then playing with layer blending modes. XD

Lake Powell is nice I went once as a kid.
Its hard to really get that desert feel sometimes if you haven't truly experienced it or studied the real environment.I guess that is the case with any environment.

IT really is. That's why I tell people to do research when making an environment they haven't before or haven't been to. x-x Helps from putting a plant or rock type where it doesn't belong.

The before hand details often get lost in this fast paced world. We forget all our foundation. I try to teach my students that you research is important all the time for any part of the art work. It takes them a while to grasp the concept of the importance of research.

or even beyond a hashtag. We really need to reevaluate the way our society works.

Thank you! I really do love working to make it bold. I think it's because I love working in an ink medium. Ink on it's own is bold though. lol

It looks so awesome :)
Well it looks like you've drawn it on the paper and I really love this effect :)
Is it hard to draw with ink like this? :D

Aha, the inks were digital actually in Paint tool Sai, however I am normally a traditional inker. When I ink traditionally, it's pretty easy to scan them and color under (and for me over as well) my inks! Even when I work digitally, color under and over. I think maybe it looks traditional because of that, the fact I normally ink on paper. XD I love inking and pen/ink is my favorite medium.

I don't think it's very hard to ink digitally or traditionally. It really is all about getting comfortable with a more... permanent medium. The think about ink is just like pencil, you can fix your mistakes if you have the right tools (process white or other white inks or an ink eradicator). One thing I've found to help tremendously is to sketch in pen/brush ink often. It helps you get over the fear of mistakes and gets you comfy with it.

As far as digital, it's easy with the eraser/undo button. XD Just practice and confidence. I feel like I have the same mindset when I ink traditionally or digitally. I do it the exact same way, the long way around and filling it in with strokes and stuff. It might take longer, but as you noticed, keeps the look. lol

Does that answer your question?
